🏦 Who Owns ComeOn Casino?
The ownership chain runs three levels deep. ComeOn Group manages the brands day to day from Malta. ComeOn Group is a subsidiary of Cherry AB, a Swedish gaming company founded in 1963 that also operates restaurant gaming venues across Sweden and owns B2B game developer Yggdrasil. Cherry AB was taken private in 2018 by a consortium led by London private equity firm Bridgepoint, who paid around $1 billion to delist it from Nasdaq Stockholm.
Cherry completed its full acquisition of ComeOn Group in 2017 for €280 million. In October 2024, Reuters reported Cherry is exploring a potential sale of ComeOn Group – reportedly valued at around €500 million based on projected €60 million EBITDA – with advisors Moelis and Jefferies. No sale has been confirmed as of early 2026. CEO Juergen Reutter has continued growing the business, adding the Ontario sportsbook in November 2024 and launching a major TV campaign featuring actor Jeremy Piven in January 2026.

🎰 ComeOn Casino in Ontario
ComeOn entered Ontario in April 2022 when the province opened Canada’s first fully regulated iGaming market. The casino runs on ComeOn Group’s proprietary platform – built entirely in-house rather than licensed from a third-party provider. This gives the group direct control over game integrations, features, and market-specific configurations. In 2017, ComeOn was the first European operator to launch a Pay & Play solution with instant sign-up using digital ID and automated KYC.
The Ontario product includes 2,200+ games, a live casino, and since November 2024, a full proprietary sportsbook covering NHL, NFL, NBA, CFL, and more. The live casino features ComeOn’s exclusive Ruby Lounge – branded roulette and blackjack tables including an industry-first 7-seat blackjack format launched in 2025. There is no standalone Android app in Ontario; mobile play is browser-based, while iOS users can download via the App Store.

🏗️ The Proprietary Platform Advantage
ComeOn Group built and owns its entire tech stack – covering the casino product, sportsbook trading and risk management tools, CRM, and player personalisation. Unlike operators running on third-party white-label platforms, the group can configure each brand independently for its local market without waiting on an external provider.
The Pay & Play technology, launched in 2017 and now widely adopted across the industry, lets European players register and deposit in seconds using digital ID such as Swedish BankID – no traditional account form required. It remains a core differentiator for the group’s Swedish brands. Ontario uses standard KYC registration under AGCO requirements, but runs on the same underlying platform infrastructure.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is ComeOn Casino available across all of Canada?
ComeOn is licensed specifically through iGaming Ontario and regulated by the AGCO. Ontario is currently Canada’s only province with a fully regulated private iGaming market. Players in other provinces should check their local rules before signing up, as Ontario’s licensing framework does not extend beyond the province.
Are any ComeOn sister sites available in Canada?
No. ComeOn (comeon.com) is the only ComeOn Group brand licensed for Ontario. The 13 sister brands are European-market sites targeting Sweden, Finland, Germany, and Poland. None operates in Canada.
Is Cherry AB still the owner of ComeOn?
As of early 2026, yes – Cherry AB (owned by Bridgepoint private equity) remains the parent company of ComeOn Group. A potential sale of ComeOn at around €500 million was reported by Reuters in October 2024, but no transaction has been confirmed. The group continues to operate under existing ownership.
What is Pay & Play and does ComeOn Ontario use it?
Pay & Play is ComeOn Group’s instant registration system, first launched in 2017, which lets European players sign up and deposit in seconds using digital ID such as Swedish BankID – no account form required. Ontario players use standard KYC registration under AGCO rules rather than Pay & Play, which depends on digital ID infrastructure available in the European markets.
What is the Ruby Lounge?
The Ruby Lounge is ComeOn Group’s exclusive branded live casino environment, available across the group’s brands including Ontario. It features dedicated roulette and blackjack tables with ComeOn branding, including a 7-seat blackjack format launched as an industry first in 2025. Ontario players access it within the live casino section.
Is ComeOn the same as 888 Casino?

ComeOn Group is owned by Cherry AB (Bridgepoint); 888 Holdings is a separate publicly listed company.
